OPERATION:
FUTURE-STATION. It's a Costuming
Festival. It's an exhibit of high-tech artistry. It's an
immersion experience into the upbeat fantasy of life on the Station of
the Future. When "The Cafe at the End of the Universe" was created in 1997, it was a greatly appreciated experience itself. But to its creator, Joel 'Twisty' Nye, it was merely a stepping stone from which greater visions would be realized. Springboarding from the mixture of drama and ambiance, he envisioned a richer weekend escape in which the fan community can share. The object now is to transform, not just a room, but a hotel, into the corridors and auspices of a living, thriving, futuristic bizarre... harmoniously cohabited by space-farers of any kind imaginable. There will be hospitalities and entertainments of a different time and space. There will be spectacles and activities unlike any other. Our mad scientists will bring to bear exhibits and surroundings that our forebeares never ventured to dream. But best of all, you will be there, in all the glory of your individuality. The fantastic aspect(s) of your inner alien will be given an unprecedented backdrop upon which to appear. I'm dying to see the rich diversity and interpersonal chemistry of your fertile imaginations. - joel |
